The Rifles Living History Society (Rifles) welcomes all prospective members, male or female, from the age 17

The aim of the Rifles is to portray the British and Commonwealth Rifleman from 1820 to 1960, by the wearing and presenting of the uniforms and equipment, and by living history displays and re-enactment of training methods and drill for the purpose of education and study.

The core impression will be the Rifleman of the Rifle Brigade, Kings Royal Rifle Corp and London Regiment of the Great War, 1914-1918. Members of the Rifles may depict other individual rifle regiments at the discretion of the Committee. On the Isle of Wight, the founding impression was of the Isle of Wight Rifles and will be the primary impression for events held there.

Female members are invited to portray women’s roles in either civilian or military life.
