The Battalion Recreated

The 1st Petrograd Women's Death Battalion is the only First World War unit that allows women to fight as women authentically.
The uniforms, weapons and equipment of the WDB is identical to that of their male counterpats with the addition of the coveted elite 'shock-troops' pogoni or shoulder boards.
2007 will see the 90th anniversery of the first attack by 1st Petrograd Women's Death Battalion and 1914-21 will be commemorating this occasion at events through the year but in particular at the Royal Gunpowder Mills at Waltham Abbey (date tbc). We are actively looking for female reenactors to participate in this event to make it as memorable as possible. If you are interested then please contact either the webmaster or the battalion's NCO Laura Whitehouse. We can lend kit to anyone interested in taking part.
