The 13th Regiment Recreated

Today we recreate the 13th Regiment and participate in living history displays in the UK and in mainland Europe.

In the trenches 2005. Marne Memorial. Dormans, France.

We are regular attendees at numerous events such as the English Heritage Festival of History and the annual WW1 living history event at the Passchedaele Museum in Zonnebeke, Belgium.

As the 13th Regiment we have three primary presentations, the Army of 1914, the Army of 1916 and the Army of the White Army of the Civil War.

As the war progressed the uniform and equipment of the Russian army evolved to meet new types of warfare and in recognition of the strains that the war placed upon the Russian economy. The steel helmet was introduced in 1916, mostly model 1915 Adrians provided by France. Ankle boots and puttees were introduced to supplement the traditional knee length boot and some equipment was simplified even further. Grenadier platoons were formed to carry out reconnaissance missions and trench raids and to lead the major assaults using infiltration tactics.

We are always looking for new members! We can lend new members any kit needed until they can sort their own out and of course we can provide guidance and practical help in locating the appropriate gear.

The equipment required by our members is as follows:
